Process elements of plastic bottle cap welding mark

The welding mark of the plastic bottle cap is a linear mark on the injection part. It is the two strands of the plastic melt when the part of the plastic melt has more than one gate or the thickness is changed when the part has holes and inserts. The stream meets at its interface without being completely fused.

Process factors:
(1) The mold temperature is too low, which causes the melt flow rate to slow down and cooling too fast. When the two streams meet, the two streams cannot be effectively fused.

(2) The temperature of the material tube or the hot runner is too low, and the plasticization of the melt is not complete. The temperature should be increased or the plasticization time should be appropriately extended.

(3) The wall thickness of the product is too thin, and it is difficult to fill the mold, thereby increasing the melt temperature difference in the mold and prone to welding marks. At this time, the injection pressure or the barrel temperature can be appropriately increased.
(4) The injection speed is too slow, resulting in a slower flow rate. The melt in the cavity that enters first cools down faster. Material factors: The raw material has moisture, which is converted into gas during the injection process, which affects the fusion effect of the stream. The raw material should be dried and moisture-proofed.
Mould factors:
(1) The gate design is unreasonable. The gate position should be avoided as much as possible around the inserts and holes. Gates where spray filling occurs should be managed to correct, migrate, or buffer the stoppers, and try not to use or use fewer gates.
(2) The mold is trapped, so that the gas in the cavity cannot be discharged normally. When the two streams are merged, the fusion effect is affected.
