Injection mold factory introduces the temperature control of the mold for you
Edit:Taizhou Huangyan Yige Machinery Co., Ltd.   UpDate:2018-12-12

An injection mold is something that produces plastic products; it also gives plastic products a complete structure and accurate standards. Injection molding is a processing method used in the mass production of certain complex shapes. Specifically, it refers to injecting the heat-dissolved plastic into the cavity of the mold at high pressure from an injection molding machine, and cooling and solidifying to obtain a molded product. The following describes the classification of injection molds and the temperature control of molds in detail by the injection mold factory . I hope it can be helpful to everyone!

According to the molding characteristics, injection molds are divided into two types: thermoset plastic molds and thermoplastic plastic molds; according to the molding process, they are divided into plastic transfer molds, blow molds, casting molds, thermoforming molds, hot compression molds (compression molds), injection molds, etc. In the meantime, the hot press mold can be divided into overflow type, semi-overflow type and non-overflow type by the overflow method, and the injection mold can be divided into cold runner mold and warm runner mold by the pouring system; according to the loading and unloading method It can be divided into two types: mobile and fixed.

There are three kinds of heat transfer methods: radiation, convection and conduction. In the mold, the heat generated by the plastic brought into the mold is 95% of the heat absorbed by the mold. During the processing, the temperature change is a more important influence factor, and it has a great impact on the quality of the product, which indirectly affects the production efficiency.
The mold temperature control method is a liquid cooling mold flowing in a cooling pipe. Since water is relatively cheap, water is used as a primary coolant to cool the mold. Water can be guided to shorten the rapid cooling time. Generally, colder molds are more useful because they allow faster production cycle times. However, this is not necessarily correct, because some materials are too cold and have adverse effects. Beryllium copper inserts are generally used in the mold to improve the cooling effect of the mold. The mold can also quickly transfer heat to the flow through the beryllium copper material with excellent thermal conductivity in the part that is not good at heat dissipation (such as the part surrounded by plastic parts) The cooling water is taken away to achieve the cooling effect. There are also plastics with high melting temperatures that require molds to be heated for injection. For example, resistance wire heating rods are embedded in the mold blank to heat the mold. There are 2 types of liquid, water and oil used for mold cooling; generally, there are 3 kinds of water, ice water and water plus antifreeze. Conversely, when it is necessary to increase the mold temperature, hot water is used to heat the mold.
